Irma’s love for painting will always remain her first love and therefore the Irma Art Studio is filled with easels, canvas, oil paints and paintings!
“Using colours and shapes, I do not wish to depict a realistic image of my subject, but rather create a feeling of nostalgia and remembrance”.
She paints in a modern-abstract way; elongating and distorting the perspective of buildings and subjects to slanted forms and angles with fine lines that reminds of architectural drawings.
Irma uses oil paints on high quality stretched canvas, applying the paint with bold strokes and palette-knives.

In the past various galleries in South Africa hosted her works, but currently she sells her paintings mainly from her studio in Wilderness as well as through online art dealers on the internet.
