This painting was inspired by three simple houses next to a gravel foot path leading up to the majestic Paarl Rock, found in the Western Cape town of Paarl. Paarl Rock are three granite outcrops and are more than 500 million years old. The main rock is called Paarl Rock, the Dutch word for pearl. for after heavy rainfall, the rocks sparkle like pearls. The huge boulders are high above the town with a 360 degrees view around the valley. The painting depicts the little foot path and houses against Paarl Rock and the setting sun.

Sunset, near Paarl
